Survivor’s Reserve:
A Community of Self Sufficiency

Many of us recognize the importance of being prepared, but stockpiling food, water, and other resources is only a temporary solution. What if an event lasts years or more? That’s where Survivor’s Reserve comes in. We’re building a community capable of surviving without outside inputs for multiple years, and potentially decades. Our focus is on creating a fully operational farm that you can step into if the need arises—ready to sustain you and your family.

You don’t have to live here full-time; Survivor’s Reserve offers flexibility for recreation, vacations, or full-time residence. You can choose to work the land or work remotely while enjoying the security and camaraderie of a like-minded community.

For us, sustainability isn't a political statement—it’s about true independence, grounded in faith. We believe in the one true God who sent His Son, Jesus Christ. While we don’t worship nature, we see immense value in connecting with it. Even a weekend in the great outdoors can help us reflect on what truly matters.

Why Survivor’s Reserve?
Our goal is to create a community that thrives in both business and survival modes. In business mode, our active farm operation can cover ongoing costs, maintain livestock, and keep the land productive. When needed, the farm can switch immediately to survival mode, providing for the community without relying on external resources.

Food Stockpiles and Redundancies
We maintain substantial stockpiles of dry goods, including grains, beans, cooking oil, and other essentials that can sustain the community through extended crises. Beyond the dry goods, we will have extensive seed reserves for vegetables, grains, and herbs, allowing us to produce our food year after year. Each crop is chosen for its resilience and caloric value to maximize sustainability. Our food production is designed with redundancy in mind, ensuring that greenhouses, open farmland, and livestock can support the community even if one area experiences a setback.

Energy Systems
Our energy setup will include a blend of solar power and backup natural gas systems, designed to provide a steady source of electricity for both everyday living and emergency situations. While the solar grid powers a significant portion of the community, our natural gas reserves and backup generators ensure we can remain functional, even in extended periods of low sunlight. Additionally, we’ve built flexibility into the system so we can expand our solar capacity over time, using surplus revenue from business mode operations.

Water Supplies and Greywater Systems
With strategically placed water wells, storage tanks, and a robust distribution network, we will be equipped to meet the community’s needs for drinking, irrigation, and livestock water. Our greywater treatment systems will allow us to recycle water from showers and sinks for agricultural use to conserve valuable resources. The community also will have rainwater harvesting capabilities to supplement water supplies, particularly during dry spells.

Standing Livestock Herds and Agricultural Expertise
We will maintain a variety of livestock, including goats, chickens, sheep, and rabbits, for diverse and sustainable sources of milk, eggs, meat, and wool. Our goat operation even includes yogurt production in business mode, which will help fund the community. Livestock rotations are carefully managed to support soil health and provide ample fertilizer for crop production, further bolstering our resilience. This approach ensures that we are prepared for survival mode with a steady supply of protein and other essential nutrients.

Planning Timelines and Development Phases

Building Survivor’s Reserve is a phased endeavor. We’ve laid out a five-year development plan, with key milestones for constructing infrastructure, stocking food supplies, and establishing energy and water systems. Early in the process, we will focus on land clearing and developing our seed and food stockpiles, ensuring that essential resources are in place well before the community is 100% complete. This phased approach means that as cabins and campsites are built, they can be allocated for both vacationers and full-time residents, allowing for immediate use. We’ll also permit camping on the property, giving members the opportunity to experience the land and the community as it develops. This timeline allows us to maintain quality control and ensure that each phase of the project is fully sustainable before moving on to the next. Regular updates will be provided to members, so you’re always in the loop about the community’s progress.

How Does Survivor’s Reserve Compare?

Creating a similar setup on your own is not only a significant investment of time and money but also requires extensive planning, expertise, and labor. Here’s a comparison:

-
Cost: Starting a self-sufficient farm from scratch requires purchasing land, equipment, livestock, and supplies. In addition to initial setup costs, there are ongoing expenses for maintenance, utilities, and labor. By joining Survivor’s Reserve, you can access these resources with a fraction of the investment needed to go solo.

-
Time: Building a resilient system takes years of planning and construction. With Survivor’s Reserve, you step into a community that has already laid the groundwork for long-term survival and sustainability.

-
Expertise: Running a self-sufficient operation requires knowledge of farming, livestock care, water management, and more. At Survivor’s Reserve, we have experts managing these systems, so you don’t have to be an expert to benefit from them.

-
Community: Preparing for a potential crisis alone can be isolating. At Survivor’s Reserve, you’re surrounded by like-minded individuals who share your commitment to preparedness and faith, offering both practical support and a sense of belonging.
